National Doctors Day - Honoring the Calling
March 25, 2026—Mount Vernon, OH— March 30 is National Doctors’ Day, a moment to recognize physicians with sincere gratitude for their special skills and talents. At Knox Community Hospital, we are proud of the physicians on our medical staff, and we commend them for their exceptional dedication and commitment to patient care every day.
Our physicians do far more than diagnose and treat illness. They honor their calling to serve by building trust during difficult times, guiding patients and loved ones through uncertainty, and remaining calm and focused when the stakes are highest. Their work reflects not only excellence in medicine but also the compassion and humanity that define outstanding care.
National Doctors’ Day gives us an opportunity to say thank you in a meaningful and personal way for all they do. To celebrate, KCH is hosting an appreciation luncheon and sharing messages of gratitude through social media and other recognition efforts. These gestures represent just a small portion of the appreciation we feel for the tremendous impact physicians have on our hospital and our community.
“Doctors are more than healers—they are problem solvers and advocates for patient well‑being, and a most valuable member of our entire healthcare team,” said Bruce D. White, President and Chief Executive Officer. “On National Doctors’ Day, we come together to recognize and thank them for their expertise, compassion, and the countless ways they improve the lives of those we serve.”
About National Doctors’ Day
National Doctors’ Day is observed annually on March 30 to honor the contributions of physicians in America. First celebrated in 1933 and officially recognized by President George H.W. Bush in 1990, the day commemorates the first use of general anesthesia in surgery by Dr. Crawford W. Long in 1842, symbolizing the progress and dedication that define the medical profession.
