Knox Pages is hiring a part-time Community Connector
Part-Time | 15–20 hours per week | Flexible schedule | $15–$18/hr
We’re looking for a relationship-builder who knows Knox County’s business community and can open doors that lead to real growth — for local companies and for local journalism.
Knox Pages, part of Source Media Properties, is hiring a Community Connector — a part-time professional who uses existing relationships and community presence to help local businesses discover creative advertising and marketing opportunities that grow revenue and sustain independent local news.
You won’t be closing deals — you’ll be opening doors. Your role is to identify potential advertisers or partners, qualify them through conversation, and schedule meetings for the area’s Community Business Manager, and when appropriate, Head of Community Investment. Each introduction you make helps drive the economic engine that keeps independent local news alive and thriving.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and qualify strong business leads through proactive outreach
- Set up and schedule qualified appointments for the area Community Business Manager and/or Head of Community Investment
- Represent Knox Pages at Chamber events, community gatherings, and business functions
- Log outreach and results in our CRM (HubSpot training provided)
- Share what you hear — community trends, opportunities, and insights — to help guide our business strategy
What Success Looks Like
- You consistently create a steady flow of qualified appointments for the Community Business Manager, and as appropriate, Head of Community Investment
- Local business owners know and trust you as the friendly, helpful face of Knox Pages
- You can clearly see your efforts turn into new partnerships, advertising campaigns, and community impact
- You help our team uncover new opportunities, business connections, and on occasion new stories, that make Knox County stronger
Who You Are
- You’re well-connected and respected within the Knox County business or civic community
- You can comfortably engage decision-makers and understand their goals
- You understand that growing a territory means consistent outreach, follow up, and long-term relationship development
- You are motivated by purpose — helping local businesses succeed while supporting journalism that strengthens our community
- You are looking for meaningful part-time work that makes a visible difference
Compensation & Schedule
- $15–$18/hour, depending on experience.
- Approximately 15–20 hours per week, flexible scheduling.
- Mileage reimbursement for approved local travel.
- Occasional evening or weekend community events.
About Source Media Properties
Source Media Properties is an independent, community-focused media organization serving North Central Ohio through Richland Source, Ashland Source, Knox Pages, and now Delaware Source.
We were founded to change the conversation from “what used to be” to “what could be.”
Our mission is simple: to make our communities stronger by providing trustworthy news and creative marketing solutions that help local people, businesses, and organizations thrive.
When our readers, members, and clients need to know what’s happening or how to reach their customers, they start at the Source – and we make sure it’s worth their trust every time.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
We believe the strongest organizations reflect the communities they serve.
People who thrive here love local news, believe in community, take ownership of their work, give and receive feedback with humility, and want to build something meaningful with others.
We come from farms, suburbs, and cities.
We vote differently, worship differently, live differently — and we like that.
Some of us have degrees in journalism; others never went to college.
We’re omnivores and vegetarians, gun owners and people who’ve never held one.
What matters is that we treat people with curiosity and respect — and we’re committed to creating a workplace where all kinds of people can belong.
If this sounds like a place where you can bring your whole self and do your best work — we want to hear from you.
