"9 to 5 The Musical" - Presented by MTVarts
This vibrant musical comedy, featuring music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the iconic 1980 film that celebrates female empowerment and workplace camaraderie. Under the direction of Artistic Director Bruce Jacklin, the hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet (Megan Evans,) Judy (Abigail Tayse,) and Doralee (Kylie Stadler Hoam) live out their wildest fantasy ? giving their boss Franklin Hart Jr. (Ian Fraser Ernsberger) the boot! While Hart remains ''otherwise engaged,'' the women and accountant Joe (Caleb Gibbs) give their workplace a dream makeover while trying to avoid Hart?s snooping assistant Roz (Serra Austin,) taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she? They are joined by Chase Tennant as Doralee's supportive husband Dwanye; Norita Hissong, Caroline Pletcher, and Katie Dearth as fellow secretaries Kathy, Margaret, and Maria; Aaron Moreland as Judy?s soon-to-be-ex-husband Dick; Zach Cramer as Violet?s awkward teenage son Josh; Nate Hoam as company CEO Tinsworthy; and a dynamic ensemble featuring Josh Callahan-Foley, Karma Carpenter, Alex Diehl, Judy Diehl, Kate Ernsberger, Emilee Fletcher, Gabby Fuller, Peyton Hauenstine-Cline, Meredith Morgan, Patricia Oliveira, Sydney Orrison, Chloe Skillman, Sage Szucs, Jack Williams, and John Yoder.
