The Center for Cancer Care at Knox Community Hospital invites area cosmetologists and nurses to an educational event on Saturday, July 20, from 9 am- 10 am at the Urgent Care Center Education Room, 1490 Coshocton Avenue. Continuing education credits have been approved by the Ohio Board of Cosmetology for 1.0 hour of continuing education; clinical staff may earn 1.0 contact hour for continuing nursing education, too. Presenters Ramona Sarsama Nixon, MD, board-certified dermatologist and Elaine Flowers, RN, BSN, KCH Infection Preventionist, share information on melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. The session is to promote educational awareness in recognizing suspicious lesions for cosmetologists and nurses. There is no charge to attend, and continental breakfast will be provided.
