The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will visit the Knox County Health Department on Aug. 21. from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to offer pediatric health care walk-in services. The Care Mobile will be parked on the south side of the health department and will be visible from Coshocton Rd. You do not have to come into the health department first to visit the Care Mobile. The new, state-of-the-art Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is staffed with a full-time doctor, nurse, medical technician and a driver. Children from birth to age 21 are eligible for healthcare services ranging from well-care visits to immunizations and sports physicals to sick-child appointments. While appointments are not necessary, you can request a specific time by calling the health department medical clinic at 399-8009. There is a cost for a visit to the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. Parents must present their insurance or Medicaid card for their child to receive services. However, no child will be turned away due to a family's inability to pay. If a child has already received services at Nationwide Children's Hospital or any of the neighborhood Nationwide Children's Hospital clinics, the child's information is already in the network. The August visit to the health department is the first in a series of monthly visits scheduled through November. A list of upcoming dates will be announced later.
