DESCRIPTION:Dear Community Leaders\,\n\nWe are proud to share some of this year's achievements made by the adolescents we serve. Three teens received their high school diplomas. We welcomed the birth of a drug-free baby! The teens have completed a number of community service projects\, including serving in hot meal kitchens\, taking care of the Kokosing Gap Trail\, connecting with residents at the homeless shelter\, and planting flowers around the Freedom Center. \n\nOur adolescent clients have also had opportunities to be involved in a variety of drug free activities. They have completed art projects for a recovery art show. They had a wonderful opportunity to do some career testing and explore options for their future. They play basketball. Go for ice cream. Have fun. Many of these teens have no idea how to interact\, relax\, and feel good without drugs. It is an important part of their recovery to learn these new skills.\n\nThe teens participate in fund raisers to raise the money to allow them to do these community service projects and fun activities. Our biggest fund raising event is approaching\, and we would like to challenge you to help us make this our most successful year so far.	\n	 \nOur 11th annual Chili Cook Off will be held on Tuesday\, October 29th from 4:30 – 7 pm. Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene\, 16001 Glen Road\, Mount Vernon\, will graciously open their doors for our event again this year. You can help in two ways. First\, we need some dynamic and delicious chili entries. We need to have all completed entry applications submitted by Monday\, October 21\, 2013. There will be recognition for all participants and a little something special for the winning categories.
